Squirrels Are an interesting breed of animal. Many people like to see them as they race around in the lawn and trees, carrying their organic things such as collecting food, playing, building houses, etc.. They are generally seen raiding a bird feeder and many a individual has had fun viewing the creative ways these creatures attempt to get into a bird feeders, even those with “squirrel guards” onto them. I have personally observed squirrels jumping from high up in a tree to attempt to land on the bird feeder at the middle of the lawn, then they miss and go back up the tree and do it again til they triumph. These are the creatures most people enjoy.
But There’s a side to These animals that many people, (maybe like yourself), don’t know, and that is the territorial side. Squirrels guard their land and mark it their own distinct way. Dogs, cats, and other wild animals like snacks, etc. mark there land by leaving urine in places. This is a means to mark their land on your house or someone elses. Sometimes not a major spot, but only enough to show that is their region.
The Other reason they think a lot is as a result of a fact not widely known of squirrels and that is their teeth continually grow, they don’t quit growing like our teeth. If they did not chew on things which are difficult, their teeth would grow in a half circle and become so long they could not eat and they’d starve to death. Wood is a excellent hard substance and your home usually is filled with it. This is just another reason they chew on houses, possibly yours.
Chew on houses and this is the one I usually get called in for squirrel control in which I service. They want to eliminate squirrels in their loft.
Noises in my attic, I normally hear them early morning, then throughout the day at several times and then right about dark I hear a whole lot of sound and then it quiets down just a couple hours after dark, do you know what this kind of noise may be?”
I say, “Yes, that sounds Like squirrels, they generally spend their day out and about, sometimes visiting their den site (your loft) at various times, then return in through the night when their major predators like hawks, owls, etc are generally outside hunting. What I could do to you is come out and do an inspection for $XXX and ascertain precisely what the sound is and figure out where they entered your home. At the point I will set up squirrel traps, generally within the hole and a couple baited traps using a system that works well for me. When squirrels are caught and I want to make a trip back it is $XXX for each trip back. I will at the time give you a quote for repairs where the entrance point is to make sure that this problem does not happen again.
The main That flows air from your attic to the outside. These squirrels feel that warmer atmosphere and begin to chew their way into the attic. Once inside they find that an attic is much like a glorified hollow tree, much warmer, much safer, so they take up residence and do not pay you rent. You hear the noise, and wonder what is going on up there, and they’re naturally curious and will occasionally wonder what is happening down there and chew a summit hole just to look and then seal it up with insulation that is available. It generally doesn’t mean they’re moving into the living room.
Squirrels may be controlled when They’re chewing on Your house and gaining entry from the attic. Solve the problem is to contact Sarasota Animal Services.
